Apple today released the new line of MacBooks, the successor to the iBook. Good news is to be found here too: like the MacBook Pro, the MacBook has a built-in S/PDIF input.

That means all you need is a plug adapter and the Teabox should plug right into the new MacBook – no external audio interface! This is definitely the easiest route to a portable rig with high-res, high-speed sensors I’ve seen. Sweet!

Hi !

This is a good news, but what about Max on Intel ? I guess I have to wait for Cycling’74 to release an UB of Max to use this feature. For what I have read, I need Max to use the Teabox, isn’t it ?

Max is the ideal platform for the Teabox, as you surmised. But now that Max is available as a Universal Binary, we just need to recompile the Teabox external to also be Universal Binary.

We released a second Tap.Tools UB beta today and the Teabox externals will follow shortly.
